Message from the Principal
It is a great privilege to share what makes Scoil Mhuire a unique school.
We endeavour to contribute to the transformation of all the students in our care into mature young adults, equipped with the knowledge, skills and moral compass to embrace whatever opportunities and challenges that may come their way.
Scoil Mhuire recognises the need to adapt to the ever changing needs of today’s world and as such we continually strive to review and improve our programmes, practices, facilities and policies.
Scoil Mhuire tries to utilise the resources human, physical and financial to provide the best possible environment to cater for our diverse student population.

Scoil Mhuire’s Mission Statement: “Scoil Mhuire is a Christian, caring community which encourages the integrated development of every individual concerned”.
Every member of this community – teachers, students, staff, parents – feel a sense of commitment and belonging.
Our principal objective is to provide for our students a broad and balanced education in all its aspects – intellectual, emotional, physical, moral and cultural. This objective is achieved within a controlled but relaxed and happy environment.
Our School History
The Mercy Sisters arrived in Carrick on Suir in 1874 to provide secondary education for girls in the town whose parents could not send them to boarding school.
The school operated as an ‘A’ school solely through the medium of Irish until 1967 and from 1974 all subjects were taught through English.

🏑🏐As the school year draws to a close we would like to acknowledge the incredible depth of sporting talent we have here in Scoil Mhuire. Pictured below are girls who are representing their county in Camogie and Football at various grades from Waterford, Kilkenny and Tipperary. We wish the girls the best of luck in both county and club competitions over the summer months and look forward to having them playing in a Scoil Mhuire jersey next year. 🏐🏑
