A message from our Head Girl, Lorna Butler

Hi all, I hope you are all keeping safe and well!

I’m sure you are all aware by now the vital role social distancing plays in the prevention of spreading Covid-19.
I cannot ask you enough to please adhere to the guidelines the HSE have put in place.

Some of those being:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly and often.
  • Keeping two meters apart from each other, whether it be at home, outside or in the shop.
  • Keep social contact to an absolute minimum.

For us as teenagers the last guideline is particularly important! You must think that just because you don’t have symptoms of the virus you could still pass it on to a vulnerable member of your family or community.

Remember there are many other ways of keeping in contact with your friends such as FaceTime, group chats etc.
If all us members of the Scoil Mhuire community co-operate with these guidelines we are playing a huge part in slowing down the rapid spread of the virus, which significantly helps our nurses and doctors to treat people that unfortunately suffer from the virus.

I am aware the last few days have been tough, and the days and weeks ahead are going to be equally as hard to get through!
Remember, you are not alone! We are all in this together!

Now it is absolutely necessary that we all pull together by keeping apart.
Sending you all love and well wishes,
Lorna Butler

The following is information regarding how to access our online learning platform – Office 365 Learning Platform

All students in Scoil Mhuire are signed up to an online learning platform – TEAMS. Through this, their teachers are in contact and can continue to direct students learning while the school is closed due to the COVID-19 virus.

Priority is been given to exam classes. Teachers are using a variety of methodologies to assist their students.

This varies from live video streaming; videos produced by the teacher; assignments with answers/ screenshots of completed work emailed to teacher to assignments given with marking schemes posted to the class group.

Most importantly all students have access to their subject teachers. All students are recommended to follow their normal school timetable whilst at home.

Scoil Mhuire asks for parental support to ensure that every student checks TEAMs and their school email regularly. It is important that every student engages with assigned work.

Students attending ERSS for subjects should use this link to access subject work: https://www.erss.ie/online-study
